From “House” to “Home”







Here’s where that home you love starts to become yours. You’ve chosen the location and model, now all you need to do is secure financing. Not sure where to start? We can help with advice and education — we can even help you find a mortgage broker, if you need one.

We will guide you through the writing of the agreement and explain the details regarding your home and make sure that all of your questions are answered. Upon signing of the agreement, an initial refundable deposit will be required and your sale will be based upon conditions within the agreement. Once conditions have been removed, the deposit is applied to your down payment.
You’ll also choose interior finishes here for any home purchase that is not already under construction.


Mortgage approval. After writing, our sales team faxes all the relevant documents to your mortgage broker on your behalf.

Once the mortgage is approved you’ll visit with our sales team and sign off to remove the condition to firm the sale. This is when the second deposit (the balance of the 5% down payment) is due.  Congratulations!


We know you will be curious about how it’s all coming together, so we’ll give you regular updates as well as a chance to see your home up close as it’s being built.

  • Mechanical Visit: This happens after framing is complete and mechanical systems (your furnace, plumbing, and so on) have been installed.
  • Cabinet Visit: Once the cabinets have been installed, you’ll have a chance to visit the site again to see the layout and measure for window coverings and furniture.
  • 35-Day Notice:  We’ll give you a call when we’re 35 days away from your possession date, so you can start planning in earnest.


This is the final stage of construction. We’re putting the final touches on construction, and you’re getting ready to make your big move.

  • Pre-Occupancy Walk-Through: Things are really starting to come together, and at this visit, two weeks before you take possession, a member of our construction team walks you through your home and shows you how the home functions.  It’s also where you note small imperfections.
  • Possession Day: This is it — the day the home becomes yours. You’ll do a final walk-through with your construction team, which will be scheduled in advance.  We’ll review the warranty information and release the keys to you. It’s a busy, exciting day, so take a look at our checklist for things you should keep in mind. 
  • Move in: It’s all yours. Enjoy!



You will be connected to our service team who will be your contact for your home as well as scheduling the following visits once you move in. 

  • Two weeks after you move in: we’ll join you for another walk-through. Here’s your chance to go over any outstanding issues or flag new ones.
  • Warranty visits: we’ll visit you as needed to make sure deficiencies are being taken care of
  • One-Year Final Inspection: A member of our service team will meet  with you again for a final walk-through.
Warranty Information and Customer Care
Your new home is covered by: a one-year Builder Warranty on workmanship and material, a two-year warranty on delivery and distribution systems, a five or seven-year warranty on the building envelope and a 10-year structural warranty. You will be provided your warranty information upon possession.
